In May 2020, Gardot made headlines from her Paris apartment when she called auditions for orchestral musicians who couldn't work due to the Covid-19 quarantine. With their help, she organized a virtual orchestra for her first released single, From Paris With Love. In June, the singer made headlines again when she recorded her first COVID-safe studio recording alongside the famous Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at London's historic Abbey Road Studios. The next album, 'Sunset In The Blue', will be available from Decca Records. It is an orchestral tribute to her jazz roots. Here she reunites with the production team that won several Grammy Awards for her platinum album "My One And Only Thrill": producer Larry Klein (Joni Mitchell, Herbie Hancock), arranger and composer Vince Mendoza (Björk, Robbie Williams, Elvis Costello) and legendary engineer Al Schmitt (Frank Sinatra, Joao Gilberto, Bob Dylan, Paul McCartney). The determination to create and develop one's art has always been the underlying theme of Melody Gardot's work, but never more so than on Sunset In The Blue. Against all odds, she has created an amazing collaborative work - in this most challenging of times. Melody's exquisite album is complemented by 5 new bonus tracks, including the gossamer "C'est Magnifique" feat. Antonio Zambujo (Live at Namouche Studios), "Love Song" feat. Ibrahim Maalouf and a shortened version of "From Paris With Love". The recordings of "What Is This Thing Called Love" and "Trav'lin' Light" were also made at his home jazz club in Philadelphia.
