The XL Annorum interconnect is an evolution of our popular speaker cable of the same name. A sort of hybrid construction of the XL Annorum speaker cable and the Sword interconnect, where we have taken the best of both worlds. The construction itself is very similar to the Sword-I, while the wire material, damping fill and rubberized jacket come from the XL Annorum speaker cable. During testing and development we were impressed with how quiet the cable was, the rubber-based damping material protected the cable extremely well from the pernicious microphone effect. This effect is usually volume dependent and increases as the volume increases, but in our tests we did not hear or measure any microphonics at all. When you add to this the transparency of the Sword's construction and the minimal phase shift characteristics, we got a top-notch cable at a mid-range price. The biggest difference from the Sword-I's big brother is its painted Litz wires, which still make it perform slightly better, but also make it significantly more expensive. Cables with varnished Litz wires are extremely much more difficult and expensive to solder because each wire must be stripped, which is not necessary with the XL Annorum Interconnect.

Construction consists of two bifilar conductors of 6+6 bare drawn 5N oxygen-freecopper wires, wrapped in 2 layers around a short pitch plastic core. This provides good capacitance values and effectively reduces current limitation (skin effect). Other design advantages include a PP plastic insulator that is very tight and chemically stable, which helps minimize deadly acoustic corrosion of the conductor material. The conductors are twisted together with damping filler material, effectively shielded with aluminum foil and then encased in a rubberized outer jacket.
