60s Psychedelic Rock Band

The Amboy Dukes were an American rock band formed in 1964 in Chicago, later moving to Detroit. They are best known for their hit single "Journey to the Center of the Mind," which was released in 1968. The band's music fused elements of rock, blues, and psychedelia. The Amboy Dukes' self-titled debut album was released in 1967, showcasing their psychedelic rock sound. Over time, the group underwent several lineup changes, but the most constant member was guitarist Ted Nugent, who would later achieve greater fame as a solo artist. The band's early work is noted for its influence on hard rock and heavy metal genres that emerged in the subsequent decades. After releasing a number of albums throughout the late 1960s and early 1970s, including "Migration" and the live album "Survival Of The Fittest - Live," The Amboy Dukes eventually disbanded as Nugent embarked on his successful solo career.
